A Penguin and His Pebble at Riverbanks Zoo and Gardens #FamouslyHot

When my family road trips to a new city, we do our absolute best to visit the local zoo. Why? We love animals, so much so that I find myself adding to my bucket list of wild animals that I would love to own.

On our visit to Riverbanks Zoo and Gardens in Columbia, SC, last week, we just happened to catch a very special encounter between two Gentoo Penguins- a male presented a female with a pebble and I caught it on video.

When a male Gentoo digs a female Gentoo, the male searches for a pebble to present to the female as a present. If she accepts, the two will become mates for life. Personally, I feel it's one of the sweetest animal encounters one can witness and I'm so happy I caught the act on video.
