Subway Art: Sculpture in Manhattan #ILoveNY

The Manhattan Subway had always appealed to me for it's grimy, gritty look and feel. I think if it was pristine I wouldn't nearly love it as much as I do.

At 14th and 8th Avenue, Tom Otterness installed a series of fun, bronze sculpture pieces titles Life Underground that we fell in love with during our last visit to New York City. Installed in the year 2000, the pieces reflect an underground world and the mystery and urban myths that go along with it.

From haphazard coins to monsters living in the city drains, I'm loving the creativity and whimsicality.
