Dolphin Browser for iOS and Android: User Friendly- and Free!

I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for MoboTap. I received a PayPal incentive to thank me for my participation. All opinions and reviews are my own.

The busier my life gets, the more I want (and need!) my apps to run fast and smooth and know what I want before I know that I want it, you know? I mean, in reality I'd love for each of them to just know what I'm thinking or what I need to look up and automatically do it for me, but since we're not there yet (we are getting closer, though), I'll take super fast speed and convenience wrapped up in an easy to use package.

I also really like the idea of having a browser that I can customize to my liking. I want to be able to tweak a browser to make it ideal for me and my preferences.

In my circles, I know of not one person that doesn't have their smartphone glued to their hand. On occasion I'll forget my iPhone at home and it feels like I'm missing my child. I'm the kind of gal that looks up song lyrics on my phone because I won't be able to stop thinking about them , oh my gosh, or when a movie comes out that I want to take The Kid to while I'm waiting in line at the grocery store. I've also been known to check prices at other stores before I make a large purchase. It's all of these situations, and many, many more, that make the need for a fast and super easy to navigate browser a pivotal app on my iPhone. It's these spur of the moment inspirational thoughts that pull me to my phone when I'm out.

When I heard about Dolphin Browser, I've gotta tell ya, I was a little hesitant to give it a go. I'm used to the other popular browsers and how they work, but once I heard about all of the intuitive features that Dolphin offers, I was happy to give it a go- and I was so pleasantly surprised! And, whether your an iOS or Android fan, Dolphin Browser works beautifully with both- and it's free to download!

Using Dolphin Browser

Once I downloaded Dolphin Browser for free, I went ahead and started learning about the home screen features. A great feature is that the home screen is not cluttered and offered a few of the websites that I already visit often. When you touch the +, you are able to add additional sites that you frequently use.

Here's my favorite part about Dolphin Browser? see that little dolphin icon at the bottom of the screen? Tapping that allows you expand the bottom menu and access the Draw A Gesture feature- and this one is so cool!

There's already several loaded and all you have to do at any time to access the Gesture feature is to tap the dolphin. I created a few new gestures that made perfect sense to me, but youcan feel free to tweak them however you like.

Swipe from left to right and a search bar will appear highlighting your browsing history, most visited pages, and of course, popular sites. you can edit and tweak this area as well. See? I told you Dolphin Browser was super user friendly and easy.

From the sidebar you can also sign into Dolphin Connect- allowing you to sync bookmarks and history, view or clear your browsing history, and manage bookmarks.

There's a right sidebar as well- simply swipe from right to left. Here you'll be able to create a new tab or delete multiple tabs.

The Tab List icon is a great thing to tap, too. You can change the theme from the classic view to pretty images and even holiday themes, select private and night modes, search for a word/words on a page- and that's only the first screen!

Choosing Classic Tab or Desktop Mode is available on the second screen of the Tab List. I wanted to check how much I could tweak the setting and I was able to select a font size, block pop-ups (YAY!), and also choose Ad Block. I did notice that the default setting is to save all passwords and if you're okay with it it's fine, but I turned mine off. Better safe than sorry for me.

Tips for iOS Users

  • Gestures: Simply swipe and go with customized Gestures. I tweaked mine and added a few that I would use frequently. I found it fun making up icons for each.
  • Sonar: Ask and you shall receive with smart voice search. I did not see this feature in my browser so it must be an add on for an upcoming update.
  • Tabbed Browsing: Open multiple tabs for all-in-one browsing.  This was such a great feature, especially if you need to compare websites.
  • Modes: Go into Night Mode, Private Mode, or Desktop Mode for maximum flexibility while you browse. Night mode is awesome and did not wear out my eyes.
  • Add-Ons: Tailor your Dolphin experience with third-party add-ons.
  • Side Bars: Quickly access bookmarks and options with a swipe. Such a fun feature as you can add or remove sites.
  • Dolphin Connect: Stay connected by syncing your data across compatible devices. Reminds me of iTunes ability to sync- great idea!

Tips for Android Users

  • Gestures: Simply swipe and go with customized Gestures. The ability to tweak and customize a Gesture allows for faster browsing- love it!
  • Sonar: Ask and you shall receive with smart voice search. I did not see this feature in my version of Dolphin Browser so it must be coming in an update.
  • Flash Support (for Android users): Discover more with Flash support. I did not use this feature, so please let me know what you think of it.
  • Tabbed Browsing: Open multiple tabs for all-in-one browsing. Fast and easy!
  • Social & Storage: Share and sync with Facebook, Evernote, Box and more. Love the ability to sync.
  • Add-Ons: Tailor your Dolphin experience with third-party add-ons. A great way to tailor your browsing experience.
  • Side Bars: Quickly access bookmarks and options with a swipe. Easy peasy.
  • Dolphin Connect: Sync your data across compatible devices.

All in all, I'm elated I gave Dolphin Browser a go. I find myself using this one more than any other compliments of its speed, ease of use, and ability to customize. I'm happy to give it a thumbs up and would be even happier if you let me know what you think of Dolphin in the comments section below!

Happy Browsing!
