Ash Cave: Quintessential Hocking Hills Beauty #DiscoverOhio
Jaw dropping, mouth gaping beauty.
So many additional adjectives and phrases describe the beauty Ash Cave in Hocking Hills, Ohio, but those are the two that perfectly described my face when Mr. Locke and I hiked to it last weekend.
Early settlers to the Hocking Hills region gave the 900-foot long cave its name compliments of the large pile of ashes (believed to be from Native American Indian fires) they discovered inside. The cave is 100 feet deep and a small tributary from Queer Creek's East Fork gives the cave a gorgeous waterfall. On our visit the region has received a ton of rain so the waterfall was even more impressive.
And yes, that's me standing beside it, mouth gaped open.
I told you.
Happy travels!
